Those opposing IMA are not well-wishers of Pakistan, Ch Shujat Hussain
Lahore: 28-12-2015: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain has said that those making Pakistan’s joining Saudi Arabia-led Islamic Military Alliance controversial, are not well-wishers of Pakistan. We should remember this that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are linked with each other through infallible relations of Islamic brotherhood. Whenever security of Pakistan is threatened with any external and internal threat, Saudi Arabia has not waited for any formal request from Pakistan for assistance and has always come rushing and helped Pakistan. As such it should not be made an issue whether Saudi Arabia had formally informed Pakistan or not prior to including Pakistan’s name among the countries included in the Islamic Military Alliance. This thing is of no importance in the relationship of mutual trust which exists between the people of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Ch Shujat Hussain said that Saudi Arabia has made it clear that religious sectarianism has nothing to do with Islamic Military Alliance and it will work against terrorism without any sectarian discrimination. The biggest religious education institution of the world Al-Azhar University has also welcomed the formation of the Islamic Military Alliance, despite this if some elements are raising objection on Pakistan’s joining of the Islamic Military Alliance then their only objective is to create misunderstandings between the people of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
Ch Shujat Hussain said that the Foreign Office should avoid indulging in ambiguous and irresponsible statement mongering in this regard and categorically should support Islamic Military Alliance and defend Pakistan’s inclusion in it. #
