Govt has turned Talagang into Baghdad instead of district, Ch Parvez Elahi

Rawalpindi/Lahore: 26-01-2016: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has condemned in the strongest words of turning Talagang city into ruins and destruction of billions of rupees worth properties of the people under the cover of removal of encroachments campaign.

He said constructions done after securing NOC from NHA and in accordance with approved blueprints of the local govt administration and houses of the poor are being destroyed and demolished through verbal orders as a result of which people have been deprived of these asserts they had made in whole life and come out on the roads.

He said it would have been more appropriate that the loss of the effected compensated after formal negotiations and compensation paid to them at the market rate but the govt instead of making Talagang a district has turned into a city of ruins like Baghdad. He said electronic and print media should highlight this situation of Talagang whereas superior judiciary also by taking sou moto notice of this matter should redress the grievances of the people of Talagang. #
