Chairmen should cast their votes keeping in view honour and “sharafat” of Gujrat: Ch Parvez Elahi
According to Election Rulers, spoiling or bring out vote outside is crime and six months sentence is punishment, on being pointed search is essential under the law
Lahore/Gujrat: 21-12-2016: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that in the local bodies office-bearers election the Chairmen should take a decision keeping in view honour and “sharafat” of Gujrat.
Addressing meeting of Chairmen of Union Councils at his residence in Gujrat today (Wednesday), he said according to the Election Rules spoiling the vote or bringing the vote outside the polling room is a crime carrying six months sentence on being caught whereas on being pointed out search of such a voter is essential as per law.
He said powers and funds provided to the local bodies institutions during his tenure as the Chief Minister Punjab they were ideal and unparalleled, service to the people of Gujrat rendered by us whether in power or in opposition is a record, our relationship is not only for election but of “sharafat”, service and sharing moments of happiness and sorrows, whereas during last 9 years N-League has meted out step-motherly treatment with Gujrat and people of Gujrat is before everyone, our projects for the people of Gujrat were scrapped, funds for Gujrat University were stopped and even its closure was also attempted, Cardiology Hospital has not been made functional all these years due to which large number of our brothers and sisters became victim of their victimization attitude for not getting medical treatment timely.
Ch Parvez Elahi further said that the Chairmen should cast their vote without any fear or danger and do not entertain any high-handedness and rigging, this is appreciable that the Rangers jawans will be deployed inside and outside the polling stations who will provide protection to them. #
