Electoral reforms indispensable otherwise no use of election, again rigging will be done: Ch Shujat Hussain

PML was at number two in local bodies polls, N-League due to being in power, address to Sindh Convention

Lahore/Karachi: 24-12-2016: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain has said that electoral reforms are essential prior to next election, with these election will be of no use because again rigging will be done.

He was addressing Convention of Pakistan Muslim League Sindh at the residence of Provincial President Asad Junejo which was participated by large number of leaders and workers. The convention was also addressed besides Asad Junejo by Tariq Hassan, Naseer Mengal, Bostan Ali Hoti and other leaders who welcomed the visit of Ch Shujat Hussain and said that this will imbibe new spirit and enthusiasm in the party workers. Earlier on arrival of Ch Shujat Hussain, he was enthusiastically welcomed and slogans were chanted.

Ch Shujat Hussain in his address said that in the local body’s election in the Punjab our party secured second position, besides District Council Attock our Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen were elected in different cities including Syed Hashim Shah from Jalalpur Jattan tehsil of Gujrat, Zaheer Ahmad Chairman and Zubair Khan Vice-Chairman from tehsil Hassan Abdaal of Attock, Abid Daud from tehsil Fateh Jang of Attock, Malik Naeem Tariq and Malik Zahid Awan from tehsil Talagang of Chakwal and Malik Qadeer Altaf and Mohammad Asif Nawaz from tehsil Lawa.

He said since there is N-League government in the Punjab as such it had won the local body’s election. He said in the light of last election and recent experiences we are stressing on immediate electoral reforms. He said amidst loud slogan chanting that we have to abolish politics of abuses and curses, always positive politics should be done, we have secured votes on the basis of our performance and in the next election also people will vote for us.

Responding to a question regarding politics of sit-ins, Ch Shujat Hussain said that we will bring this corrupt govt to an end, enemy of Pakistan is our enemy, Pakistan first and foremost is our politics. He said present elected representatives will be answerable to the people in the next meetings, we believe in positive and service o the people without discrimination. #
