Organizing Kabaddi League like PSL is an achievement of Pakistan Kabaddi Federation: Shafay Hussain

Present government is not ready to give funds for kabaddi, Kabaddi League has been organized in cooperation with private sector and this will be done in future as well, talk with media in annual meeting

Lahore (May 05, 2018) Annual meeting of Pakistan Kabaddi Federation was held at the residence of Ch Shafay Hussain here today (Saturday).

The meeting was attended by besides General Secretary Ch Sarwar, office-bearers of four provinces, Pakistan Army, Air Force, WAPDA, Railway, Police, PHA, Rawalpindi Division and Punjab Division including Akhtar Abbas Khwaja, Captain Nasir Mahmud, Saifur Rehman Ehtesham, Tahir Waheed Butt, Rana Amjad Iqbal, Rai Masood Kharal, Mumtaz Khan, Rashed Butt, Ch Ejaz, Badshah Gull, Iqra Hussain, Azhar Hussain, Hakim Ali, Shehzad Haneef and Qurban Hussain among others.

Newly-elected President of Pakistan Kabaddi Federation Ch Shafay Hussain addressing first meeting of the federation said that Kabaddi League is being held in Pakistan like PSL, for promotion of kabaddi it is essential that the government should support the federation but the present government has not provided any cooperation in this regard nor it is ready to give any funds and as such sponsors were brought in from the private sector, Pakistan Kabaddi Federation is preparing team for the Olympics.

He said after Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed, Ch Shujat Hussain had promoted kabaddi and now he also wants to promote this sport and for this my effort is that stadiums for kabaddi should also be made like stadiums for cricket, hockey and football in the country.

In reply to a question, he said that kabaddi players from India were also invited but Indian government did not issue NOC for them. He further said that many kabaddi federations are there with fake names, we are working for checking and curbing this trend and we will also be approaching the court in this regard very soon. #
