Lahore/Islamabad: 06-03-2019: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain has appreciated immediate step taken by Imran Khan on Fayyazul Hassan Chohan statement about Hindu community.
Responding to questions from the media, he said that in the circumstances which are currently prevailing between Pakistan and India, taking care of the rights and sentiments of Hindus living in Pakistan is very essential.
In reply to a question, Ch Shujat Hussain said that during our tenure we not only always took care of rights of the minorities but also tried to take such steps which do not hurt their hearts and they get maximum opportunities for prosperity and progress, paid attention to religion and restoration of places of minorities particularly of Hindus, during our government we started projects like restoration of Katas Raj which the second holiest place for Hindus which was admitted by former Indian Deputy Prime Minister L. K. Advani in his book “My Country My Life”.
He said that the people of other religions living in Pakistan have complete freedom, sovereignty and rights which have been guaranteed not only by Islam but also in the Constitution of Pakistan.
He said in every difficult time of the country minorities living in Pakistan have faced such situations shoulder to shoulder with their Muslim brethren and we have faith on each other.
He said Fayyazul Hassan Chohan should not have given such irresponsible statement. #
