Lahore/Gujrat: 25-09-2019: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain in his message on the death of Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed has said that all political parties be above party politics and think about Pakistan, the country direly needs unity and consensus presently and not chaos.

Meanwhile, Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi while addressing a big gathering at the Zahoor Elahi House in Gujrat today (Wednesday) said that Ch Zahoor Elahi had never compromised on service to the people and principles, always talked about ordinary man and poor man, never supported oppressor, today his third generation in politics is serving the people and we implementing the mission of service to the people of the martyred elder are supporting Imran Khan who wants to change the conditions of Pakistan and Pakistanis with good intention, Prime Minister Imran Khan on becoming the ambassador of the Kashmiris has exposed oppressor and barbaric Narendra Modi at the international level, today the circumstances of the country and condition of the region demand that we should fully support our government and the armed forces.

Ch Parvez Elahi further said that sapling which the late Ch Manzoor Elahi and Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed had planted today has become a huge tree, generation of those who had got false cases registered against me and Sheikh Rasheed is today sitting with us, we have pardoned who got false cases registered.

He said as the Chief Minister established 170 such welfare institutions like 1122, University of Gujrat, Child Protection Bureau which even today are serving the people. He said in future every death anniversary of Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed will be the budget for me and we would undertake our accountability to see what work was done right and which wrong, this is what I ask my next generation that they should recognize and identify those who are using them for their own interest and cutting the foundations of new generation.

He said that Shehbaz Sharif government lasted for 10 years despite that even today any officer whom I telephone do not refuses me because we have always respected others, this is the reason that even the opponents have prayed for health recovery of Ch Shujat Hussain.

He said today we have gathered here to pay tributes to such a great personality who had spent all his life in solving the difficulties and problems of common man and poor man, when he was put in jail for not compromising on his political ideology, even behind the bars his spirit of helping and serving others did not dampen and there too he strived to solve the problems of helpless and voiceless prisoners and got released number of prisoners by paying their fines from his pocket, the journey of serving the people which Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed had started, every member of his family is making efforts to carry it further with full faith and belief, ideal measures which we had undertaken during our chief minister-ship for progress and progress in every sphere of life, on direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar is making efforts not only for their revival and restoration but also taking them forward, today our whole family is present here and stands before you victorious for which we are our grateful to Almighty Allah from the depths of our hearts and also value the love and sincerity of all of you particularly the residents of Gujrat and hold out firm promise that like in every difficult time you have stood with us, Insha-Allah we will support you and be with you in every situation whether we are in power or not, serving the people is our fundamental objective and the lesson given by our elders which we can never forget, it is our wish and effort that we should not only practice the examples set by Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed but also carry them forward, be helpful to everyone, serve Islam, Pakistan and the people.

Continuing, Ch Parvez Elahi said that today the RSS government under leadership of Modi is committing unprecedented oppression ad excesses on Indian Muslims particularly, life, honour and property of nobody is safe, I salute our those Kashmiri sisters, daughters, brothers and children who are steadfast despite 52 days long curfew and no oppression and suppression of Indian occupying forces can dampen their spirit and enthusiasm in any manner, whenever they get the opportunity they come out wearing Pakistani flags to receive bullets on their chests.

He said that under leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the way the present government is supporting the Kashmiris, our party is fully supporting them and Insha-Allah the day is not far away when the oppressed Kashmiris will get freedom from Indian shackles and the occupying Indian forces will not get way out to flee from there because excesses and suppression which India will commit there the struggle of the Kashmiris get more strength, international community particularly the Islamic world should fully and openly support Pakistan in ridding the Kashmiris of Indian brutalities, Imran Khan has fulfilled the promise of being the ambassador of Kashmiris, opposition instead of indulging in politics of chaos should support the government on Kashmir issue, there is no need for azadi march, keep marching for the Kashmiris, opposition should raise voice for the Kashmiris, the government will also support them, hopefully the opposition will avoid indulging in some negative political activity, today be it country’s economy or foreign front the government is endeavoring with good intention, people have full trust and confidence on the government of Imran Khan and allies, people that the people is making every possible effort to deliver.

On this occasion, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Ch Shafaat Hussain, Ch Shafay Hussain and MNA Ch Hussein Elahi also spoke and pledged to carry forward the mission of Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed and said that they will stand with any oppressor.

Those seated on the stage included Ch Salim Baryaar, Musa Elahi, Ch Ejaz Warraich, Dr Zain Bhatti, Saadat Nawaz Ajnala, Mian Haroon Masood, Ch Naeem Raza, Khwaja Waqar, Irfan Ehsan, Ch Asghar Ghural, and Qari Ejaz and other leaders.

Banners were displayed in the meeting venue and the city to pay homage to Ch Zahoor Elahi Shaheed on which portraits of Ch Shujat Hussain, Ch Parvez Elahi, Moonis Elahi, Shafay Hussain and Musa Elahi were prominent.

Lager number of political workers, local bodies’ representatives and people belonging to all walks of life participated in the death anniversary and welcomed the recovery of Ch Shujat Hussain. Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi particularly expressed gratitude to the personalities who came to attend the death anniversary. Special “dua” was also offered for earthquake affectees. #
