Speaker takes decision in consensus with all parliamentary leaders

Ch Parvez Elahi meets Chief Minister Punjab, decide to establish “Punjab Government Corona Emergency Fund”

Lahore: 21-03-2020: Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi has met Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar here today (Saturday).

In the meeting, consultation took place regard prevailing political situation with particular reference to measures taken in Punjab for protection against Corona Virus and on asking of Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi it was decided to establish “Punjab Government Corona Emergency Fund”. All MPAs including the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, all Members of the Assembly (MPAs), grade 16 to 22 officers of the Assembly Secretary will deposit their one month salary in this Fund.

In this regard the Speaker held consultations with the parliamentary leaders of Tehrik-e-Insaaf, N-League, Peoples Party, Pakistan Muslim League, Rah-e-Haq Pakistan and independent candidates and heads of Parliamentary Committees about depositing the salary in the Fund. All parliamentary parties fully appreciated this decision of Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi and expressed willingness their one month each salary.

The Speaker held consultations with N-League’s Malik Nadeem Kamran, Ch Iqbal Gujjar, Rana Muhammad Iqbal, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Samiullah Khan, Atta Tara, Peoples Party’s Syed Hassan Murtaza, Raah-e-Haq Pakistan’s Mohammad Moawiya and others.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that in the prevailing situation the Punjab is facing great danger from this contagious disease but it can be overcome by adopting preventive measures, presently keeping politics aside there is dire need for fighting Corona Virus unitedly.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that alongside all possible preventive measures being taken by the federal and provincial governments to check and control Corona Virus, there is also need for full-fledged awareness campaign among the masses at large. #
