New Pandora box should not be opened, Ch Shujat Hussain, Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi, Federal Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema and Provincial Minister Hafiz Ammar Yasir statement
Lahore: 29-04-2020: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain, Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi, Secretary General/Federal Minister Housing Tariq Bashir Cheema and Provincial Minerals Minister Hafiz Ammar Yasir have emphatically stated that the Qadianis should not be included in the National Commission for Minorities as this will an unconstitutional measure, on this issue we have not been consulted as an ally party.
Expressing deep concern and wonder over efforts to include the Qadianis in the National Commission for Minorities, these leaders said that in the prevailing sensitive circumstances, opening Pandora box of Qadianiyet is not comprehensible.
They said that that the Qadianis neither accept themselves as the non-Muslim minority nor they recognize the Constitution of Pakistan, as such their being so entertained by the government is playing with the Constitution which is not acceptable at all, prior to any such proposal there was need for wider consultation but the government has not considered it necessary to consult the opposition or ulema and even its allies.
They said that in a hurry particularly in the prevailing circumstances, bringing this sensitive issue under discussion is giving rise to many questions. PML leaders demanded that this decision should immediately be withdrawn. They pointedly stated that they and their party acquit themselves fully and dissociate from any such proposal which is in conflict with the Constitution. #
