Federal Education Minister should pay more attention to material included in syllabus: Ch Shujat Hussain

In the academic syllabus chapters highlighting national, army and love for Pakistan among the new generation be included

Lahore: 26-06-2020: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain in his reaction to Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmud speech in the National Assembly said that Mr. Shafqat Mahmud should have paid more attention to what is to be taught in the syllabus along with one syllabus for all, in his speech today he said that the children should know history of Pakistan but contrary to this in Punjab Government’s Urdu book for class eight printed in 2019-2020 such events were not included which could not be contradicted by anyone but these were deleted from the syllabus like details and photographs of recipients of Nishan-e-Haider were not there, furthermore many other subjects and chapters were dropped.

He said that particularly when through 18th Constitutional Amendment, syllabus was given to the provinces then every province according to its liking either deleted or shortened these chapters. He said that they should have included such syllabus in which our national heroes and all that chapters be included through love for the country is generated among the coming generations, all this will have been kept in view. #
