British High Commissioner Dr. Christian Turner meet Ch Parvez Elahi and Moonis Elahi

British High Commissioner enquired about the welfare of Ch Shujat Hussain, views also exchanged about prevailing political situation and matters of mutual interest

Lahore: 17-11-2020: British High Commissioner Dr. Christian Turner called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi and MNA Moonis Elahi at their residence here today (Tuesday).

On this occasion, British High Commissioner’s Political Secretary Harry Thomson and Commonwealth Development Officer Jinal Shah were also present.

British High Commissioner enquired about the welfare of Ch Shujat Hussain and also exchanged views about the prevailing political situation and matters of mutual interest.

Thanking the British Higher Commissioner, Ch Parvez Elahi said that reviving Lahore and Islamabad routes by the British Airways is welcome. He said that personal interest which you are taking by promoting places of entertainment and tourism in Northern Areas we pay you tributes for that.

British High Commissioner said that democratic act of empowering Standing Committees of the Punjab Assembly for the first time is quite an appreciable step. He said that Britain is assisting Pakistan in the health and education sectors and adequate funds have also been allocated which will help in training of these departments and also infrastructure sectors.

He said that so far research conducted in this field, its fruit will also be reaped by Pakistan also. British High Commissioner said that as soon as the federal government approves it, provinces should complete the process of legislation soon.

The British High Commissioner also invited Ch Shujat Hussain, Ch Parvez Elahi and Moonis Elahi to visit the British High Commission. #
