Pakistan and the UK have deep historical ties: Moonis Elahi
The initiative of duty-free trade between the two countries could double the volume of bilateral trade

Lahore (09-02-2021) The recently appointed representative of Punjab to the British High Commission Mr. Alex Ballinger calls on the PML central leader MNA Moonis Elahi. In the meeting, former representative of British High Commission for Punjab Mr. Jinal Shah and Advisor Pakistan Muslim League Rizwan Mumtaz Ali were also present.
Moonis Elahi said that Pakistan and the British people have deep historical ties and the recent British concessions to boost bilateral trade between the two countries are very welcome.
The Pakistan Muslim League values the British role in promoting economic and social development and democracy in Pakistan. Moonis Elahi appreciated the continued interest of the British government and people in Pakistan’s political, social and economic development. He hoped that with the initiative of duty-free trade between Pakistan and the United Kingdom after Brexit, bilateral trade volume would soon double.
Alex Ballinger described Pakistan and the United Kingdom as best friends and said that in the future, the United Kingdom is keen to invest in various industrial and commercial sectors in addition to social development in Pakistan.
He also appreciated the policies of the PML on environment and education developed in collaboration with the British High Commission Islamabad.
Adviser Pakistan Muslim League Rizwan Mumtaz Ali thanked the British High Commission for its special cooperation in organizing the Pakistan Muslim League Policy Conference to be held in Lahore in March. #
