A highly performing organization like Rescue 1122 is being abused by not making it independent: Ch Parvez Elahi
It is a pity that this institution was praised not only domestically but also by UNO and its performance, but still its personnel were not regularized
If this department is not autonomous and its employees are not regularized, then I will expose all those who are obstructing this work: Speaker Punjab Assembly
Lahore: 23-02-2021: In the assembly session chaired by Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, Pakistan Muslim League member Khadija Umar Farooqi introduced the Punjab Emergency Service Amendment Bill in the House and all the members of the Assembly supported the bill.
Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi said that the bill of this department was passed by our government in 2004 and its performance so far has been excellent, not only domestically but also UNO praised this institution and appreciated its performance. However, it is a pity if this institution is not made independent and its personnel are not regularized.
He further said that if the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT) and Disaster Management can be made independent then what is the point that this institution has not been made independent yet. This institution has been turned into a rolling stone by the government, sometimes associated with civil defense and sometimes with another institution that abuses this department and its personnel.
“If the department is not made independent and its employees are not regularized, I will expose all those who are obstructing the work,” he said.
Law Minister Raja Basharat assured that there is no denying the importance of this department, the government is working to amend its draft law and insha’Allah by Thursday he will present before the House all the recommendations that you have made, there will be no difference of any kind. #
