PML CWC emergency meeting, Ch Shujat Hussain and Tariq Bashir Cheema were relieved from their posts

Under Article 118/119 of the party constitution, a committee has been established to hold elections for the vacant seats of the central president and the central secretary general within ten days

The authority of the Central President and Secretary General entrusted to the Central Chairman Election Commission Senior Advocate Jahangir A. Jhojha, other members of the Election Commission include Imtiaz Ranjha, Khadija Farooqui, Ishtiaq Gohar Adv., Ch Abdul Razzaq Kamboh Adv.

The support of Tehreek-e-Insaf’s candidate Sibtain Khan for the Speaker Punjab Assembly elections was announced and instructions were also issued to the assembly members to vote for Sibtain Khan

Lahore (28-07-2022) An emergency meeting of the Central Working Committee of the Pakistan Muslim League was held at the request of 40 party members at the PML House Lahore under the chairmanship of senior leader and member of the Central Working Committee Senator Kamil Ali Agha.

After the unanimous approval of the members of the Central Working Committee in the meeting, Central President Pakistan Muslim League Chaudhry Shujat Hussain and Central Secretary General Tariq Bashir Cheema were immediately relieved of their positions under Article 118/119 of the Constitution of Pakistan Muslim League. A committee was formed to conduct elections within ten days on the vacant seats of Central President and Central Secretary General.

Pakistan Muslim League Central Election Commission Chairman Senior Advocate Jahangir A. Jhojha while other members have been appointed Imtiaz Ranjha, Khadija Umar Farooqui, Ishtiaq Gohar Advocate, Chaudhry Abdul Razzaq Kamboh Advocate. The powers of Central President and Secretary General were entrusted to the Central Chairman Election Commission of Pakistan Muslim League Jahangir A. Jhojha Advocate for ten days till the election on both positions.

The Central Working Committee also announced the support of Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Sibtain Khan for the vacant seat of the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly and issued instructions to all the members of the Pakistan Muslim League to vote for him.

Following are the resolutions passed unanimously in the meeting.

The first resolution was presented by Tanveer Azam Cheema, Advocate Central Member, Central Working Committee of Pakistan Muslim League, in which it was said that this meeting of the Central Working Committee of Pakistan Muslim League expresses deep concern over the loss of ability to make decisions due to ill health of the President of Pakistan Muslim League Mr. Ch Shujat Hussain for a long time. After the nomination of Provincial President of Pakistan Muslim League Punjab Mr. Ch Pervez Elahi as the Chief Minister of Punjab was supported and endorsed by the honorable President, after becoming a victim of Ch Tariq Bashir Cheema, Secretary General and his son Ch Salik Hussain’s conspiracy, he issued a letter to the members of his party’s provincial assembly to vote in favor of the opposing candidate, which he did not have the right to do under the constitution of Pakistan, due to which the party was discredited and damaged. That the mental state of Ch Shujat Hussain can be estimated from this decision due to his continuous illness, that he has lost the ability to preside over the party in this state of mind, so it has become necessary to save the party from complete destruction. He should be immediately removed from the presidency of Pakistan Muslim League and Secretary General Ch Tariq Bashir Cheema should also be removed from the post of Secretary General for taking continuous steps against the interests of the party. That after today the two companions of President Pakistan Muslim League Ch Shujat Hussain and Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League Ch Tariq Bashir Cheema are relieved from their positions and they should not use their powers as President and Secretary General after today. The Central Working Committee is requested to establish an Election Commission under Article 118/119 of the Party Constitution through a resolution to hold an immediate election in his place.

Mian Muhammad Munir, central member of the Central Working Committee of Pakistan Muslim League said in his resolution that today’s meeting of the Central Working Committee of Pakistan Muslim League announces the election for the remaining term of the seats of the Central President of Pakistan Muslim League and Secretary General. In order to hold elections in this regard, under Article 118/119 of the Constitution of Pakistan Muslim League, the following five senior members of Pakistan Muslim League are appointed as Election Commission. Jahangir A. Jhojha Advocate Chairman Election Commission Pakistan Muslim League, members include Imtiaz Ranjha, Khadija Umar Farooqui, Ishtiaq Ahmed Gohar Advocate, Ch Abdul Razzaq Kamboh Advocate.

MPA Khadija Umar Farooqui Central Member Central Working Committee Pakistan Muslim League said in her resolution that today’s meeting of the Central Working Committee Pakistan Muslim League decides that from today till the completion of the election Jahangir A. Jhojha Senior Advocate Chairman Election Commission of Pakistan According to the Constitution of Pakistan Muslim League, use all the organizational and administrative powers of the President and Secretary General until the completion of the election, and using all the administrative and organizational powers, call a special meeting of the General Council for the election on ten days’ notice and ensure the holding of election in the same meeting by taking the decisions of the Central Working Committee from the Council.

According to the resolution presented by Waqas Hassan Moakal, the central member of the Central Working Committee of the Pakistan Muslim League, today’s meeting of the Central Working Committee of the Pakistan Muslim League decides that after the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Ch Pervez Elahi, was elected as the Chief Minister of Punjab, After the seat becomes vacant, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf announces its support for Muhammad Sibtain Khan and instructs all members of Punjab Assembly Pakistan Muslim League to vote for Mr. Muhammad Sibtain Khan in the election for Speaker.

Javed Iqbal Goraiya, central member of the Central Working Committee of Pakistan Muslim League said in the resolution that today’s meeting of the Central Working Committee of the Pakistan Muslim League is a tribute to Ch Parvez Elahi, the President of the Pakistan Muslim League Punjab and the Chief Minister of Punjab for his party and the country. He pays great tribute to Ch Parvez Elahi and expresses his wish that in the future he will set a record for public service by making welfare projects more than before and will bring more respect to the people of the party. #
